According to the arrangements by the University, the Winter Holiday will start from January 19thto February 16th 2020. As noticed before, all the students should register their holiday plans online before 17:00, January 20th. Please scan the QR code below to register:

A valid visa is required to study legally in China. Please pay attention to the expiration date of your visa. If your visa will expire before March 1st, 2020, please go to the ISO to apply for extension before January 17th.

In order to ensure personal safety during 2020 Winter Holiday, the International Students Office would like to remind students to pay attention to the following tips:

1.注意用电安全，不使用违规电器，不私搭电线，同时注意宿舍电器老化情况，如有异常，请第一时间与宿舍管理老师联系报修。

Do not use the prohibited or high-volume electricity appliances, like the electrical stove. Do not personally change the electricity wires without permission. Please pay special attention to the oldor poor conditions of any electrical appliances in your dormitory. If any international student finds something unusual of the electricity use or appliances, please report to dormitory managers.

2.遵守中国法律法规和校纪校规，不许非法打工！

All international students must comply with Chinese laws and regulations in addition to our university policies. During the vacation, please pay a special attention to the common violations such as illegal working with student visa, visa expiration, unruly behavior due to alcohol, and disturbing others when living off campus. Students who need to ask for a leave must perform in strict accordance with RUC’spolicies regarding taking leave for international students, which entails notifying and receiving permission from relevant teachers and departments.

3.遵守交通规则，注意交通安全。电动车出行请按照规定携带牌照，尽量不要带人出行，行驶不超速、不超载；骑自行车出行注意不逆行行驶、不闯红灯；不酒驾。

Please abide by all traffic laws and regulations and pay close attention to traffic safety. When riding battery-operated vehicles, remember to take the license card and do not overload with other passengers. If riding a bicycle, do not go against traffic light, and do not drive after drinking alcohol.

4.搭乘电梯安全提醒。乘扶梯时，电梯不能超载，当电梯报警时，主动退出；乘坐电梯发生故障时，切勿惊慌，第一时间拨打维修或报警电话。

Reminders regarding safety when using elevators: When using an elevator, please do not overload. When a warning alarmis triggered, please exit the escalator quickly and steadily. If a malfunction occurs when using the escalator, please call the maintenance or the police, and do not panic.

5.不要随身携带大量现金，宿舍不留宿外人，外出一定将窗、阳台、门锁好。保管好个人的有效证件，不要将个人证件借给他人使用，并随身携带有效证件的复印件。

Do not carry a lot of cash when going out.Do not let strangers stay in your room. When leaving your room, make sure to lock windows, balcony and the door. Do not accept any form of sales promotion and protect your personal information. Take care of your personal documents, and do not let others use them on your behalf. Always carry with you a photocopy of your important documents (e.g. passports).
