Cross-Cultural Exchange Event Welcomes New MSFT Students at SFRUC
A New Beginning at Our New Tongzhou Campus
A series of orientation activities has been organized to welcome new students from countries around the world! On the evening of September 7th, from 7:30 to 9:00 PM, the School of Finance at Renmin University of China (Tongzhou Campus) hosted a welcome session for the 2025 intake of international students enrolled in the English-taught Master in FinTech (MSFT) program. The event was held jointly with Chinese students from the 2025 cohort of the English-taught Master in International Finance program.
The gathering fostered a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Students had the opportunity to introduce themselves, share their academic backgrounds, and exchange experiences from their undergraduate studies.
Beyond social introductions, the session also offered practical academic support. Chinese students shared guidance on using the university’s multifunctional curriculum system (known as “微人大”), including procedures for course selection and withdrawal, as well as access to online learning resources such as e-books and the e-library platform. These insights proved especially valuable for international students adapting to a new academic environment.

The cultural exchange aspect was equally enriching. International and Chinese students discussed campus life, exchanged school-related information, and deepened mutual understanding. This not only helped build cross-cultural connections but also laid the groundwork for future collaboration in the classroom and academic growth. Additionally, students talked about some of Beijing’s sightseeing spots and expressed interest in organizing group visits to explore the city together.
The evening concluded with a strong sense of community and anticipation for the semester ahead. The event successfully strengthened bonds between Chinese and international students, reflecting SFRUC’s commitment to promoting global perspectives and inclusive learning environments.
