Students' Voice

Hi! My name is Andy Tan. I’m a Filipino Master of Financial Technology student from the Class of 2024. If I could sum up my time at the Renmin University of China School of Finance in two words, it would be “second chances.”
The School, while upholding the highest of academic standards, is never afraid to accept and educate dreamers. From the moment I started my first class in the program, the professors have been nothing but accommodating. Not only do they teach theoretical knowledge about the world of finance, but they also teach practical knowledge that can be applied to your everyday work in the industry. This really echoes Renmin University of China’s motto of “Seeking Truth Behind the Facts.”

As the financial world continues to evolve, blockchain technology and artificial intelligence are becoming more and more prevalent. This program not only equips you to understand investments, corporate and international finance, and derivatives, but also cryptocurrencies, digital payments, blockchain technology, and the science behind artificial intelligence, giving you the tools to seek the truth behind the facts.

If you are seeking extracurricular activities, networking opportunities, and scholarships, the University and the School provide plenty. The School often hosts field trips to fintech companies and other locales like Shenzhen, the pearl of the south. We even visited major financial institutions like the World Bank Group, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and the Asian Development Bank, which provided plenty of networking opportunities with top industry practitioners. Their advice eventually helped me land a role at Deutsche Bank AG Manila.
Your experience in the program will heavily depend on you. But if you give it your all, the School will give its all as well. My time in the Master of Science in Financial Technology program at Renmin University of China’s School of Finance may not have been perfect, but it was truly an unforgettable one.
